This 40-year-old man, who has been with the Andrew Ennabe Foundation for a while, has a very complicated case: he suffers from a bacterial disease in his limbs which has resulted in him needed various changes of those limbs. The patient is single and his job in a mobile shop ended when COVID-19 happened. With his mother deceased and his father too old to care for the patient, “O” needs support.

This older lady had a below-the-knee amputation on her right leg in 1970 due to a military explosion. Her left leg was amputated in 2005 due to a chronic infection.

This 3-year-old has cerebral palsy, which is causing spasticity in her lower body. She is experiencing walking difficulties. She has been recommended to get Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery, which costs 2,000 JOD, that is expected to decrease her spasticity, improve her balance and functionality. She also needs a special medical device, to help improve her motor functions, which costs 2,500 JOD.

He needs to be registered in a special needs center to be helped by a teacher to support and train him in order for him to be on par with his other classmates. The father and mother work as housekeepers and their salary is not enough to cover their rent and bills. Covid has also affected their work and they haven’t been working.

“Z” is a 7-year-old boy and an old case that was helped by the Andrew Ennabe Foundation in the past. He suffers from a congenital deformity of the thighs and need physiotherapy, special education, and occupational therapy. The cost of these services is 130 JD per month. The family monthly income cannot cover this, since “Z” has a brother who has a mental disability and studies at the same center.

“W” is a 12-years-old who suffers from a moderate mental disability as well as delayed speech and learning difficulties. He studies at a special education center with his brother and needs 130 JD each month.

This new case patient is 53-years-old. She suffers from narrowing and paralysis of the vocal cords. Doctors recommended that she should have a laser operation and for order to have the procedure done, she needs to take very expensive medicine until she can do it. The patient lives in a village, where she is working as a housekeeper, without any kind of facilities. She is divorced and her children do not work, therefore cannot cover her treatment expenses.

"R" is a 55-year-old man who is paralyzed due to a work accident. He suffers from fractures and muscle atrophy all over his body, as well as limited movement in his left leg joint. He needs physical therapy to strengthen his muscles. This patient cannot work, and his employer does support or recognize his disability. He has young children, but he cannot cover his expenses such as house rent and paying the bills.

This 17-year-old patient is a returning case. He has Autism and he is in the process of taking speech therapy, occupational therapy and special education services (Daily living skills training) in order to improve his abilities in several majors. The cost of this center's services is 2,040JD.

"N" is a 54-year-old woman who originally thought she was infected with COVID. But after she was admitted to the hospital and given antibiotics and cortisone medicine, it was found out that her lungs were actually filled with water.
Now she needs medicine that cost 400 JOD per one box (Caritas provided one box) and needs 11 injections ( 45 JOD per one, 45x11= 495 JOD). Her sons and daughters cannot secure the medicines because of their poor financial situation and her husband took his retirement amount which is 250 JOD which is barely enough for their house rent.

The patient is using a bilateral below knee prosthesis with silicon liner and pen shuttle, but broken and out of function. He needs two new below knee hard sockets with fiber carbon silicon liners and foam covers. Our son Andrew’s Foundation sponsored in the past the cost of a Bilateral leg prosthesis. He is now under treatment and is being better. Also, his IQ is increasing and he is getting better, but he will need to continue taking his treatment in order to improve.
